Buried alive for Bible

A muslim man in Egypt killed his wife because she was reading the Bible and then buried her with their infant baby and 8 year old daughter. The girls were buried alive! He then reported to the police that an uncle killed the kids. 15 days later another family member died. When they went to bury him, they found the 2 little girls under the sand –ALIVE!

The country is outraged over the incident and the man will be executed. The older girl was asked how she had survived. “A man wearing shiny white clothes, with bleeding woulds in his hands, came every day to feed us. He woke up my mom so that she could nurse my sister,” she said. She was interviewed on Egyptian national TV, by availed Muslim woman news anchor. She said on public TV, “This was none other than Jesus, because nobody else does things like this!”
Muslims believe Isa (Jesus) would do this, but the wounds mean He really was crucified, and its clear also that He is alive! But its also clear that the child could not make up a story like this and there is no way these children could have survived without a true miracle. Muslim leaders are going to have a hard time to figure out what to do with this, and the popularity of the Passion movie doesnot help! With Egypt at the centre of the media and the education in the Middle East, you can be sure this story will spread. Christ is still turning th world upside down! Please let this story be shared.

Honesty transforms lives

Several years ago, a priest from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.'

Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new priest in town?'
'Yes' he replied.

'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the priest stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Touch - Importance

SOOTHING TOUCH

A Soothing touch can ease the pain says new research. A gentle touch, a stroke, can heal faster than a pill it is a basic human instinct each of us is born with. The scientists found that gentle stroking activates "pleasure" nerves beneath the skin, which then reduces the sensation of pain from other nerves. Touch itself causes release of chemicals in the brain called endorphins and these changes the sensitivity to pain into happiness. Touch can also induce a state of well-being and change the mood of the person. Next time your loved one has a pain like headache, backache and other aches do not go for a pill a simple touch can prove to be more effective and personal. Staying close to kids, hugging and stroking their hands and forehead can give them relief and makes them grow better, feel secure and happy. So use this power of touch to heal your ………..
And remember when emotions accompany touch it helps faster and makes a person feel better.

Importance of Daily Eucharist

A STORY
Let me begin with a story. You may take it for what it is worth and nothing more. However, it is an extraordinary story. It has all the power of a metaphor. The change in the attitude and the conversion the story brings about are unusual and amazing! Let us “listen” to it with no pre-conceived ideas or prejudice!
“The story was told to me,” says Sr. veronica Murphy, “by an elderly nun who heard it from the lips of the late Rev. Fr. Stanislaus SS.CC.” It took place in a small town in Luxembourg.
One day, some years ago, a captain of the Forest Guards was in deep conversation with a butcher when an elderly woman entered the shop. The butcher broke off the conversation to ask the old woman what she wanted. She had come to beg for “a little meat”, but had no money. The captain was amused at the conversation which ensued between the poor woman and the butcher. “Only a little meat! But how much are you going to give me?” “ I am sorry, I have no money. But I’ll hear Mass for you.” Both the butcher and the captain were good men, but very indifferent about religion. So they at once began to scoff at the old woman’s answer.

“All right then”, said the butcher finally, “you go and hear Mass for me and when you come back I’ll give you as much meat as the Mass is worth.” The woman left the shop and returned later. She approached the counter, and the butcher seeing her said, “All right then, we’ll see.” He took a slip of paper and wrote on it, “I heard Mass for you.” He then placed the paper on the scales and a tiny bone on the other side, but nothing happened. Next he placed a piece of meat instead of the bone, but still the paper proved heavier. Both men were beginning to feel ashamed of their mockery, but continued their game. A large piece of meat was then placed on the balance, but still the paper held its own. The butcher exasperated, examined the scales, but found they were all right. “What do you want, my good woman, must I give you a whole leg of mutton?” At this he placed a whole leg of mutton on the balance, but the paper outweighed the meat. A larger piece of meat was put on, but again the weight remained on the side of the paper!

This so impressed the butcher that he was converted, and promised to give the woman her daily ration of meat. As for the captain he left the shop a changed man. In the course of time he became an ardent lover of daily Mass. Two of his sons became priests – one a Jesuit, and the other a Priest of the Sacred Heart.

Fr. Stanislaus finished by saying, “I am that Religious of the Sacred Heart, and the captain was my father.”

Take the story for what it is. But seen as a metaphor, it is not without its power to influence one’s life
